*************LOTS OF SPOILERS!!!!!*************

So I really enjoyed books 1 and 2. Book 3 however, I thought felt extremely rushed and unfinished. There were so many loose ends that didn't get tied up. I felt like the author set up certains things in books 1 and 2 but didn't capitalize in book 3. For example, it seems odd that she set up the King and Jelena's relationship yet killed him off so quickly in book 3. I mean he fell into a coma and didn't even have a role in the third book. I feel like there is a chunk of back story and essential story telling missing there. Also, the whole time in book 2, I was thinking, where is Amara and why doesn't she know about what's going on between Sadiyo and Ashinji and what Sayo was planning on doing. I mean, she should of at least had an inkling of what was going on no? For her to be this powerful mage, and also mother to the two boys and not know anything seems pretty ridiculous. I felt like the author could have taken a really interesting take and story into Amara's side of the story.

Other things:

The supposed GREAT Working that Gran performed on Jelena to resurrect her...where was that? I mean, so much emphasis was placed on her death and resurrection...yet it was hardly given a couple of sentences. Gran wasn't even mentioned afterwards.

In Book 2, there are several times where Ashinji mentions that he will repay Arak-Cho. Gran also mentions that he will be taken care of. I thought for sure Arak-cho would make an appearance in book 3 somehow but no...

What happens to Jelena's talent? Does she have any now that she doesn't have the blue fire anymore? Book 3 mentions that the Hatora has a strong connection with Ashinji and that Jelena never really felt her when she was in the womb? Any explanation as to why? nope.

So Tanya sends Ashinji after the Nameless one with a box and his true name telling him it is their last hope. Ahhh, any explanation as to why it didn't work??? nope!

Sateyuka has a tense moment with Sonoe...it seems like the author is implying Sateyuka knows more that she lets on and I thought for sure there'd be some explanation of it later however, it is only said that her talent is great and no more. Why'd she even bring that up then? Unfinished story lines it seems like...like unpolished details.

Everything ties up too neatly at the end. Sadaiyo dies without too much fuss and so does Raidu. Also Livie's husband dies in battle so Magnes is happy with his Livie too. I mean, talk about a lazy way to tie up loose ends?? I felt like there could have been a great few chapters about Sadaiyo's betrayal and the family and the implications of it instead of a quick death scene.

I loved the series... I thought it was wonderfully imaginative and intricately plotted...until this last book. When I was done reading, I thought I had read a rough draft! It seems so unfinished. Very sad to see a great trilogy end this way but very glad to have read the series nonetheless.

Griffin Destiny Book Three The Griffin Daughter Trilogy Leslie Ann Moore 9780982514504 Books Reviews

This was a slightly less fulfilling and slightly less exciting book than #2. I still enjoyed reading it but I felt like it was more predictable and one of the things about book 2 was that it wasn't predictable. I also think the book would have been just a little better if ***Spoiler*** Jelena's guilt about Mai had been discussed just a little bit more ***End Spoiler***. But again, enjoyable read

-Review re-posted from goodreads.com
At age 29, I am not particularly fan of fantastically magical stories with elves, so I was on the fence initially. But after just the 1st chapter of the 1st book (Grifin's Daughter), I was hooked. I completed all 3 books in 1 week, while working overtime at the job because I just couldn't put it down! Though there are some mythical creatures throughout the book, the story is a very human one that encompasses love, jealousy, anger, revenge, and sacraficing for the greater good. Leslie Ann Moore's writing is so vivid that you feel like you're there and a part of the story. Part of me wants this series to go to film because it's just that great, but the other part of me thinks film could not do these books justice. I am anxiously awaiting future books from Ms. Moore; she certainly has a new fan (2 actually because I got my best friend hooked as well)!
This third installment contains something the other didn't (or not as much) Suspense!
I don't want to give anything away, so I will simply say that Ashi's part of the story had me on the edge of my seat and turning pages as quickly as I could.
Other than that, can I honestly say that I am fully satisfied? No.
I feel that some parts of the story were either bypassed or too short. One character in particular is no longer mentioned after she does what she felt she had to do (hard to review and not spoil anything for others, hahaha).
And I feel Ashi's story became more interesting than Jelena's and I felt frustrated and disappointed it wasn't developed more.
But overall, I do think it was a nice finish to the trilogy, even if the end is a bit...well, you read it and you tell me what you think.
While this book does a good job picking up where the second book ended, I did not enjoy this book as well as the other two. The need to have Magnes confess his love for Ashinji was just ridiculous. While it may have been done to give Ashinji the opportunity to exercise his untrained gift, this could have been handled a little differently.

Another issue I had with this book is that it seemed more rushed than the other two. This book certainly had fewer pages and I think the author could have spend a bit more time in some areas such as having the new king make the people aware of the sacrifices of Jelena, Ashinji and the other members of the mage society. Also, the resolution of the Nameless One was a bit too quick and unresolved.

For the reader that has purchased and read the second book, yes, you should get the third so you have resolution. Though, I recommend waiting for a sale.
